Established in 1945 from one man, one paddock, to the fourth generation - The Mackay Group is Australia’s Leading Banana Grower. From planting the first crop of bananas over 75years ago the farming business has expanded to produce bananas, papaya, sugarcane, cattle and avocados. The business is now directed by the family’s 3rd generation and the company employs more than 550 staff across 9 locations stretching from Cooktown to Brisbane. In more recent years this vertically integrated business has expanded into ripening and processing of produce.
The accommodation facility is currently being constructed on farm and will be finalised January 2024. Position to commence in early February 2024.
We are currently seeking an Accommodation Site Manager to join our team and ensure the comfort and well-being of our employees living on site. This is a permanent full-time position with flexibility regarding roster and working hours.
Position Overview:
As an Accommodation Site Manager in Lakeland, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing the on-farm housing facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our employees live in safe, clean, and comfortable conditions, fostering a positive and inclusive living environment. Accommodation Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Management: Oversee and maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of on-farm housing facilities, including dormitories, cottages, and communal areas.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a dedicated team responsible for housekeeping, maintenance, and accommodation management, ensuring a high level of service and attention to detail.
- Employee Support: Address employee inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere to enhance employee well-being and job satisfaction. Providing transportation & assistance to the Pacific Workforce Team as required.
- Budget Management: Management of the budget for accommodation facilities, efficiently allocating resources while maintaining quality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant housing and safety regulations, staying informed about changes and adapting policies and procedures as necessary.
- Security and Safety: Implement and oversee security measures to protect residents and the property, as well as develop and communicate emergency procedures.
Qualifications required:
- Proven experience in accommodation or facility management desired.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
- Understanding of regulations and standards related to housing facilities.
- A commitment to creating a supportive and welcoming atmosphere for employees.
- MR Licence desired but not essential (Training & licensing options available).
