Our client is an established, national contractor with a specialism in delivering D&C industrial, retail and commercial building and refurbishment projects throughout Australia. Due to a heavy work-load and recently secured additional projects, they are expanding and require a senior level Site Manager. In this position you will help deliver one of its flag-ship construction projects, a $40M new build bulky goods retail project located just South of Brisbane CBD. The projects is due to commence in late July / early August and has a 16 month programme.
In this position you will be reporting to the senior project manager, with a team in place under your guidance initially you will be solely responsible as the number 1 Site Manager for overseeing the delivery of a $40M new-build retail project, while managing a site team of FM, Leading hands and labour underneath you. Importantly you will be required to utilize your excellent communication & interpersonal skills to liaise with your site team and sub-contractors, whilst continually representing the company in a professional manner.
Day-to-day as the Site Manager on this project your duties will include;
- Management of your site team including foreman, leading hands and a cadet.
- Directing and managing subcontractors on site
- Organizing and running sub-contractor meetings.
- Site safety including preparing the site safety plan and ensuring safe work procedures for employees and subcontractors
- Working closely with the project manager to ensure key project milestones are hit by preparing and monitoring 2 weekly programs and attending programme coordination meetings will be key.
- client liaison - communicating regularly with the client (verbally and written) as required.
To be suitable for this position, candidates will possess the following;
- Must have delivered projects of a similar size and value from start to finish on multiple occasions.
- Must have delivered new industrial and retail construction projects to $40M+
- Will have a worked for recognised Australian Building Contractors across the tier 2 and 3 market.
- Must be able to run a site team
- Strong safety and programming skills.
- Supermarket project experience will be hugely beneficial.
- Computer skills with Microsoft packages and previous experience with Procore would be advantageous
