Role and Responsibilities
The Opportunity
As the Account Director for Vodafone, the core responsibilities for this role would revolve around the development of a successful B2C sales strategy and relationship engagement matrix. This will be achieved in a number of ways including:
Developing both short and longer term Sales plans and targets to support revenue growth of Samsung’s Mobile Experience products
Translating strategic intent into practical execution
Developing and maintaining senior relationships with Vodafone across multiple channels
Identifying, strategizing and maximising on new business opportunities
Accurately forecasting annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams
Coordinating company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results
Formulating appropriate sales policies, practices and procedures
Team management, engagement and support
Collaboration with multiple support functions including Category, Care, Commercial, Legal, PR amongst others to drive a favourable outcome for you and your team
Planning / Opportunity Development
Understand Vodafone’s business strategies and motivations to maximise Samsung’s unique proposition
Develop, manage and measure Vodafone’s performance through detailed business planning and regular reviews against plan, and implementation of a sound metrics-based approach to management
Assess competition and identify displacement strategies within Vodafone
Optimise channel engagement between Vodafone and Samsung sales teams to drive a consistent sales outcome and positive customer experience
Leverage Vodafone to identify and drive new product and solutions opportunities
Organize and manage monthly, quarterly and 6-monthly business reviews
Leverage Vodafone to maintain Samsung’s existing install base of customers and products and identify growth opportunities in the CVM space
Develop and customise ongoing tactical sales programs
Relationship
Build the appropriate network of relationships across all Vodafone Business Units
Establish an engagement matrix and facilitate the development of additional relationships between Samsung and Vodafone.
Strengthen the Samsung value propositions to the market through alignment and fine-tuning of Vodafone activities
Ensure that Vodafone are kept fully informed on all relevant Samsung initiatives, activities, product and solution developments through regular updates
Manage channel conflict
Act as both an escalation path and direct point of contact as and when required
Be responsible at all levels for overall Vodafone relationship and performance
Business Management
Meet assigned financial targets and market share targets
Implement a sound forecasting method to provide Samsung visibility of future sales (weekly, monthly and quarterly) revenues
Track the current performance against agreed target and determine ways to increase sales
Achieve balanced sales performance across all Vodafone assigned business units
Ensure that Samsung business processes are observed and act accordingly based on established policies
Internal
Maintain close internal engagement with Samsung business and support groups
Build strong ties with sales teams in all territories to ensure there's a solid understanding of solutions offered by Vodafone which can be discussed with enterprise clients
Identify accounts with the KAM team where solutions would fit and create the appropriate alignment between Samsung sales and alliance Vodafone sales reps
Establish a communication plan for internal stakeholders, to keep them informed on Vodafone performance and activity
Skills and Qualifications
10+ years of B2C mobility sales experience
Understanding of the retail market within Australia, preferably vendor/supplier management experience. Preferably experience in dealing with Vodafone/TPG or others telecom providers
Proven track record of meeting / exceeding targets / expectations
Advanced use of Excel and Power Point
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
An understanding of technical requirements and capabilities of both Samsung and Vodafone/TPG
Strong communication skills and excellent relationship/stakeholder management
