Our client, QIT Plus Pty Ltd, is currently seeking a full-time Accountant to join the team at 12/121 Shute Harbour Road, Cannonvale, Queensland 4802.

The Accountant will be accountable to the Chief Executive Officer. Together with the current Executive Administrator, all business and financial management, cash flow and compliance will be managed for the company.
As part of the QIT Plus team, the role will support the business with accounting skills, finance knowledge, and excellent communication.
Expectations of the Position:
- Reside in the Whitsundays region, or ability to relocate
- Strong MYOB and Excel skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- Understanding and adherence to privacy and confidentiality guidelines
- Summarising current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, Cash Flow statement, profit and loss statement, and other reports
- Supervising monthly reconciliation statements for the company's bank accounts
- Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
- Preparing spreadsheets for the Board of Directors to track expense and profit to help management analyse the business performance during the year
- Developing budgetary and accounting policies for the business
- Preparing and lodging GST returns for the business
- Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and reviewing business performance quarterly
- Doing year-end accounting procedure
- Advising on financial actions like business expansion, new opportunities etc
- Representing the business before tax authorities and supporting if any dispute arises
- Researching and providing taxation advice on business structure, plans, and operations
- Making sure reports are properly made as per the accounting standards
- Secure financial information by completing database backups
- Maintains financial security by following proper internal controls
- Assisting senior management to comply with all the rules and regulations and assisting in answering any questions raised by external agencies
- Complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Maintaining and updating company information with ASIC
- Examining the proficiency of accounting software used to organise data and replacing it with updated software if required
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least three years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of MYOB or similar
- Excel intermediate knowledge
- Good time management and problem-solving skills

- $71,000 per annum plus superannuation
