Blueline Laundry is seeking a New Town based Accountant on a fixed term (12 month with the possibility of further extensions or permanent) full-time basis (part-time may also be considered). About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Finacial Officer, the Accountant is responsible for the integrity of financial systems and information, whilst ensuring Blueline is compliant with all legislative requirements, through the fulfilment of the major areas of responsibility and accountability, specific competencies and capabilities, and other requirements of the position outlined in the Position Description. This is an essential component of Blueline’s capacity to deliver high quality service to our clients and customers.
The Accountant will have a good knowledge of the latest accounting rules and theories, have strong ethics and integrity, be organised and structured, and also creative and inquisitive.
While working independently, the Accountant will be business minded, accountable, accurate and detail orientated, as well as being a team player.
What You Bring (Selection Criteria)
- A tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business with a major in accounting,
- Behaviours in line with the Blueline Behavioural Competencies for All of Us (refer to the application documentation).
- Proven experience in a management accountant role.
- Proven financial management/reporting and analysis skills, including reporting, development of budgets and forecasts.
- Demonstrated high degree of experience and computer skills in sophisticated Accounting Software, Information Systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and Outlook) and use of the Internet.
- Planning and organising priorities both individually and as a member of a team.
- Empathy, understanding and a positive approach to ensuring the rights and responsibilities of people with disabilities.
Desirable qualifications
- Understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
- Understanding of relevant legislative requirements.
- Certified Practicing Account (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Ability to self-manage.
