This opportunity is available for an Accountant experienced within the logistics industry who does not shy away from getting in there and building a high performing function.
The duties and responsibilities of the accountant role at our company include but are not limited to:
- Prepare forms, manuals and reports for accounting and bookkeeping
- Running and overseeing the Australian payroll
- Processing of documentation for Import/Export requirements
- Maintain and update shipment schedules
- Collecting, examining and analysing financial information and data of relevance to the organisation;
- Preparation of financial statements and reports whilst ensuring accuracy.
- Examine operating costs and organisations’ income and expenditure
- Communicating good accounting practises;
- Undertaking financial investigations as required;
- Assisting in the financial planning and decision-making of the organisation and formulating accounting policies;
- Ability to operate accounting information systems and implement other integrated software;
- Offering and providing financial advice on organisation's performance and business structure to ensure compliance with statutory and strategic governance; and
- Collaborating with the finance director to ensure successful creation of financial reporting, analysis, and processes.
More About You
To be considered for this role, the following qualities and capabilities are desirable in potential candidates:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar qualification preferred
- At least 2+ years relevant working experience in Seafreight industry Import/Export
- Extensive knowledge of freight forwarding operations
- Possessing good analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Strong organisational abilities;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Able to be flexible and have good adaptability to respond to changes;
- Effective time and matter management;
- Medium to advanced computer literacy (MS Office, TransLogix, Database management & 2IC Pallets an advantage).
- To work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- To be able to communicate proficiently in English and Russian
- Ideally, you will have previous accounting experience within the logistics industry.
