Accountant (General) - Kalgoorlie WA
About the role: As an Accountant you will report to the Director.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing Income Statement, Balance sheet, Cash flow statements accompanied by relevant and detailed notes
• Presenting the financial documents to management and external Accountant firm
• Keeping a detailed track of operating costs and any procurements for our company and make sure everything is accurate and in accordance with company policy
• Responsible for the monthly functions including consolidation and reconciliation of the monthly claims
• Tracking revenues, overhead expenses, and providing financial insights to support informed decision-making within our company
• Providing assistance in accessing the accuracy of information in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements by analysing and cross-referencing data, identifying discrepancies and highlighting potential areas of concern
• Providing financial advice on business structures, plans and operation> Provided support, review and analysis of franchise business
• Preparing income statements and tax returns
• Liaising with banks and credit companies for monetary arrangements
• Reviewing and maintaining our clients funding and make sure they are always on their budget
• Providing guidance on introducing and maintaining accounting systems, as well as advise on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
• Establishing and monitoring financial processes, implementing segregation of duties, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
• Preparing reports as required by the Department of Human Services and Australian Aged Care, Quality and Safety Commission
• Assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
Qualification and Skills
• Relevant Tertiary qualification
• Previous experience within disability/aged care sector
• Outstanding quality of work, attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) including liaising and consulting with internal and external customers
• Strong computer literacy
