Our growing team of aviation specialists provides support to our clients in the areas of aerodrome design, project management and construction, maintenance, technical inspections and aerodrome surveys, operational readiness, airport security, training, regulatory compliance, audits, and ongoing daily operations.
About the role
AMS has an exciting full-time opportunity for an Accountant to join our Perth based Finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role and you will be responsible for:
- Preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and Fixed Asset Register
- Reviewing, maintaining and updating financial records, including general ledger accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Analysing financial data and preparing reports on financial performance, trends, and variance
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, and monitor and implementing process improvements
- Delivering timely and accurate end to end payroll processing on a fortnightly basis, including submission of reports
- Monitoring the performance and productivity of operations
- The preparation of BAS, PAYG and Payroll Tax, FBT
- Preparing insurance renewals and other financial information for tendering purpose
- Assisting with the year-end financial reporting and related processes
Essential Criteria
- Accounting degree or equivalent
- Hold CPA or CA membership or be actively working towards qualification
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people both internal and external
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices and principles
- Excellent demonstrated problem solver and can work well towards deadlines
Desirable Criteria
- Strong experience in medium-large ERP systems is preferred
- Ability to easily learn new systems
- Experience in Payroll
