The role of Accountant is part of the Group Finance function, with a remit for financial accounting across a geographically dispersed motor vehicles rentals business. You’ll lead and deliver transactional accounting, whilst engaging with a range of internal stakeholders including Area Managers and Administration/Customer Service to drive financial performance initiatives.

Day to day your role includes:
- Preparation of financials through to end of month including balance sheet reconciliations
- Analysis of income, expenditure, operating costs
- Working with stakeholders on budgets, driving performance, profitability, growth
- Analysis of finance data with recommendations to drive decision making
- Preparing fortnightly payroll (70 employees)
- Managing the fleet accounting system including asset registers
- Assisting the insurance claims team with recovery processes
- Providing tax advice/guidance
- Liaison with external stakeholders including banks and financial institutions, audit functions etc
- Preparing reports for Group level stakeholders (consolidated financial information)
- Accounting qualifications (CA or CPA)
- Deep level of accounting experience in an operational/transactional accounting role
- Strong analytical and commercial capability
- Experience in stakeholder engagement driving financial performance, profitability and growth discussions
- Systems experience (MYOB or similar)
- Industry experience which could include working within a fleet, rentals business, travel industry or aligned (services based)
- Experience leading a small multi-disciplinary team
- A continuous improvement mindset
