AddressRole & responsibilities
- Arranging accounting entries for company debtors and creditors, compliance-based auditing, producing accounting information and record keeping
- Assisting in examining operating costs and organisations’ income and expenditure
- Assisting in the preparation of management reports including financial statements, cash flow statements and operational budgets.
- Examining and analysing the financial information in the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and working capital report
- Reviewing and reconciling business bank statements, inter-company transactions, and actual budget against the year's expected budget.
- Handling daily, monthly, and yearly closings and preparing monthly and yearly reports
- Posting monthly journals for payroll cost, employee superannuation and PAYG withholding tax, salary sacrifice, commissions, and employee termination payment
- Preparing trial balance, evaluating all asset, liability, expense and income general ledger accounts. Proving variance analysis and providing commentary on financial figures
- Calculating the year-end tax liability preparing for the company's income tax return
- Working directly with external Accountants, reviewing, timely lodging, and payment of regulatory and taxation needs such as BAS, payroll tax, Superannuation.
- Creating and maintaining accounting systems, as well as advising on the selection and use of computer-based accounting systems
- Ensuring internal financial control is maintained.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA) are preferred.
- Experience in accounting or a related financial role, preferably in an in-house capacity.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems.
