Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded.

EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is a new organisation, having formally come into effect on 1 January 2023. As such, 2023 is a time of transition and establishment, with a need for the development of new teams, structures, processes and systems.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is a rare opportunity for an inspired Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, values focused organisation with multiple competing priorities. Working in close collaboration with the CFO and other Finance professionals, you'll be responsible for assisting with the managing of EREA Flexible School Ltd multi-campus Finance operations. This role requires a degree of decision-making, judgement and the exercising of delegated authority, whilst successfully cultivating positive working relationships. The successful candidate will embrace the EREA Flexible School Ltd key principles of honesty, respect, participation, safe & legal. The successful candidate will operate with the passion of supporting the young people educated by EREA Flexible Schools Ltd at the heart of everything they do.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- New system roll-out experience.
- Formal tertiary Accounting / Business qualification with CA or CPA.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.
- Demonstrated an ability to adapt to new and changing environments.
- Leadership experience across multiple business or department functions, fostering strong relationships to motivate, guide and develop individuals to optimise staff engagement and future growth.
- Demonstrated extensive financial knowledge of the business operations within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to successfully engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- High degree of experience with budgets, preparation of end-to-end management accounts and school financial reporting systems.
- Willingness to travel inter-state to other school sites as required
