St Leo's is a Catholic men's residential College located within UQ's St Lucia campus. The College provides accommodation services, and academic assistance to 200 plus men undertaking undergraduate and post-graduate studies. St Leo's commenced as a Catholic College at UQ 1917. As one of the first colleges affiliated with the University it has a proud collegiate history and strong relationship with the University characterised by its academic, sporting, cultural, social, faith based opportunities. The College also has a University-wide reputation for commercial catering and conferencing excellence and supplies casual accommodation when the University is not in session.
Qualifications & experience
- Experience with Xero essential
- Full month end processing and closing essential
- Ability to work alone, on a wide variety of duties, often jumping between multiple tasks
- This is a wide ranging role and so would suit someone with whole of business knowledge
- Experience with StarRez system highly desirable
- Candidates will be required to obtain a Blue Card (reimbursed by College)
Tasks & responsibilities
- Reporting to the Business Manager and working with the Payroll/accounts officer to manage the daily financial operations of the College, ensuring the timely and accurate capture and reporting the College’s financial information
- Take ownership of the College’s financial systems, general ledgers, sub ledgers, supporting systems, payroll, residential management system (StarRez), fixed assets and banking systems
- Take ownership to ensure efficient and timely month end closing and reporting (full process from transaction recording to financial reporting)
- Assist with identifying and implementing improvements for the efficient delivery of the College’s financial services, including budget preparation
- Complying with the College’s tax obligations including: PAYG, GST and FBT
- Work alongside the Payroll Officer to ensure coverage in peak times, during leave etc.
