About The RoleWhitehaven Coal has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Treasury and Revenue Accountant to join our team at our Newcastle Office. You will be responsible for assisting the Group Treasurer and Revenue Accounting Manager with all treasury related tasks, including management of FX exposure and hedging requirements, trade finance, credit support facilities, senior debt facilities, lease facilities, and cashflow forecasting and liquidity management.
This role is based in our Newcastle office.
What You’ll Do
- Manage daily liquidity of the group, and internal funding requirements for each entity within the Whitehaven structure
- Support the team with all Treasury related tasks, including FX risk management, group lending requirements (such as trade finance, credit support, senior debt, leasing). Including credit card management and reconciliation.
- Cashflow forecasting requirements
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and internal reporting of treasury related items
- Stewardship of the general ledger for company codes, ensuring correct allocation of expenses
- Develop expertise in Pulse (ERP) and TM1 (BI software).
- Involvement in testing of system updates.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting / Business or related field.
- CPA or CA membership
- General Ledger experience
- Systems experience (TM1, Planning Analytics, Pulse Mining ERP are desirable).
- You are dynamic, driven, energetic and have a positive attitude.
- You display a ‘growth mindset’ and have a strong desire to learn and improve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
