Job description

We are a fast-growing company providing services for certification and maintenance of kitchen ventilation systems and equipment. We provide our services to Hotels, Pubs, Restaurant, RSL clubs, Golf clubs, Bowling clubs, Hospitals, Council buildings, Universities, Supermarkets, Office buildings, Warehouses and many more.

The company has an ever-increasing annual turnover and sales are growing significantly. We need an in-house Accountant responsible for financial compliance and economic growth of the company. The accountant has to perform the following duties:    

·       Directly reporting to the director

·       Responsible for analysing, interpreting, and reporting on financial matters.

·       Creating company’s financial and audit reports for presentation to the owner

·       Maintain all paperwork in order and ensure that financial reports and statements complies with government statutory and company’s audit policies.

·       Familiar with recent accounting software’s and suggest business to have efficient computer-based accounting system to generate accurate financial reports and to check any financial fraud to maintain financial health of the company.

·       Formulation of monthly and financial year ending budget policies and advise on tax liabilities.

·       Maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

·       Select, implement and modify accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.

·       Preparation of business plans, operational plans, financial plans, cash flow forecasts and profit projections, and analyses associated financial risks in new projects.

·       Projection of future liabilities and appraisal of cash flow for investment in projects

·       Meet Banks/brokers/financial institutes to procure finance/loans for the new projects and provide advice to management on best financial deals.

·       Analyse operating cost of the business, suggest expenditure budget to keep company in profit.

·       Preparation of year-end payment summaries, profits and loss reports and detailed company financials

·       Preparation of monthly payroll tax and quarterly/annual BAS

·       Preparation of year end statutory accounts, reporting, internal audit and tax requirements

·       Responsible to maintain the financial position of the company, analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial situation.

·       Advise management on sale and purchase of businesses to increase company’s financial capacity and increase equity.

·       Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

·       Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in the financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.

·       Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue and formulate measures to control insolvency.

·       Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organise data.

·       Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

·       Advise to the assisting staff to record correct data in computer system to generate accurate budgeting, cash flow and audit reports.

·       Ensure that company make legitimate tax and deprecation claims as allowed by tax laws.

·       Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow.

·       Summarizes current financial statements by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other statutory reports.

·       Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

26.   Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education, and experience:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or master’s Degree in accounting field 

Experience: At least 2 years of full time or equivalent experience as a general accountant

Key Skills :

·       Professional verbal and written communication skills,

·       Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

·       The person needs to be polite and should have confidence and extreme patience.

·       Excellent listening, and problem-solving skills.

·       Ability to work unsupervised.

REMUNERATION: The role will attract a salary of $80,000 perannum. In addition to the base salary, mandatory superannuation will be paid.
