Edward Mann is recruiting for an Accounts Officer on a part time basis for a leading employment law firm based in the heart of the Sydney CBD. With a focus on labour and employment law, they are a trusted adviser to Australian and international employers of all sizes and across all industries.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the billing, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a prestigious law firm while working alongside experienced professionals in the legal industry.
They are looking for an experienced Accounts Officer coming from a law firm or a similar industry to and willing to pay up to 85K + Super FTE for the right individual. They are open to people looking to work 3-4 days a week and are flexible on which days you work. This is an in-office role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process billing activities, including generating invoices and statements at the end of each billing cycle (monthly).
- Manage accounts receivable, including monitoring outstanding invoices and following up with clients as needed.
- Raise miscellaneous and manual invoices for events, training, settlement proceeds and as required.
- Manage invoice uploads into multiple client billing management systems
- Attend to invoice adjustments and client invoice queries.
- Ensure client disbursements in relation to legal and barristers fees are sent to clients for payment
- Processing credit card payments
- Produce client reports as requested e.g. weekly WIP reporting, statements.
- Handle accounts payable tasks, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing and data entry
- Maintain accurate time reports and records for billing purposes.
- Maintain and update the firm's CRM system to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Monthly WIP review
- Prepare daily reports, including fee projections and financial performance metrics.
- Complete bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and credit cards.
- Responsible for matter management for relevant clients including preparation/follow up/closure of Service Agreements, collection of client and contact information, revision of estimates as needed and production and circulation of pre-bills.
- Co-ordination and completion of Solicitor Representation Letters.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Proficiency in additional accounting tasks such as tax knowledge, month-end preparations, and reconciliations.
