About the Role:
NHP are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Accounts Officer to join our Finance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine documentation and general administrative duties associated with the monitoring of creditor accounts including maintaining the integrity of the Creditors sub-ledger with a correct and timely processing, payment and reconciliation process.
Size of the Finance team – 4 staff
Key Accountabilities:
- Receive and record invoices and other AP documentation, check and confirm liability for payment, ensuring accuracy
- Gain authorisation for payment in accordance with NHP procedures
- Allocate approved expenditure to correct budget account (cost centre /GL), ensuring accuracy of data
- Process payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage supplier reconciliations
- Provide excellent customer service to our supplier and stakeholders regarding AP queries
- Follow up on missing payments in a timely manner
- Closing out shipment costings
- Back up support to AR function, when required
- Studying or have completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or related field
- A minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in an Accounts Payable function
- Previous experience reconciling large accounts
- An ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment with conflicting priorities
- Analytical with an understanding of AP standards and statutory requirements
- Systems savviness (D365 Finance)
- Intermediate MS Excel skills, including experience with V Look Up
- A great eye for detail and accuracy
- Confident and capable communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team (we love to have a laugh)
