With further plans to expand and maintain an edge in the industry, the need for a strong Financial controller has been created to implement rigor around financial control, drive future performance, lead and develop a small team.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director, as Financial Controller you will have full involvement, responsibility, and oversight of the finances, leading a small team & ensuring they have monitored KPI’s.
As Financial controller, one of your key initial tasks will be to identity areas of weakness including cashflow (all ins and outs) to implement and improve processes to ensure effective forecasting can be done with integrity and accuracy of numbers and foresight.
As part of driving improvement, a key Project in first 12 months will be to to source and select (along with with project management) a new ERP to assist in cost savings and deliver business objectives to service all projects and improve forecasting accuracy and tighter timeframes of data for the business.
At a strategic level, you will work with Department Managers dissecting P&L and then provide Group P&L with insight to MD and Leadership Team.
You will build and managing comprehensive financial models to drive the annual operating plans and forecasts and maintain data/reporting systems and performance metrics that support key business decisions
You will also have responsibility for tax management, statutory financial reporting and audit.
This is a meaty, end-to-end Financial Controller role with full ownership where you can help shape & develop the team, drive performance at a commercial level with key stakeholders, & keep a tight rein on the day-to-day financial affairs.

What you will need to bring to bring to be successful:
- CA/CPA/CIM or similar
- Construction, manufacturing or project-based industry experience.
- ERP / Finance System savvy with ERP implementation experience
- Cashflow management of multiple entities / business units
- Costing, modelling, WIP & strong Excel skills
- Robust technical Accounting skills - tax, statutory & audit
- Process improvement mindset with strong commercial acumen
- Track record of upskilling, developing, & coaching finance teams.
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills.
