An opportunity currently exists in our Finance / Accounts Department for a quality individual who enjoys challenges, problem solving and is meticulous in the pursuit of accuracy. You will need to have experience in a similar role and will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an excellent Accounting knowledge and have the ability to work between multiple financial and reporting programs.

Key duties will include:

• Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording Accounts Payable data
• Reconcile the Accounts Payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Generate reports detailing Accounts Payables status
• General Data entry
• Answering the phone
• Assist with job tracking
• Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers
• Monitoring pricing adjustments
• Incoming / outgoing mail
• Assisting Senior Management as required

Successful applicant will have:

• Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Clerk
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite of Programs)
• High level competency in the use of MYOB
• Good initiative
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to learn new tasks
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
