About the role
The Accounts Payable Officer role prepares and reviews payment files for the Accounts Payable Manager’s approval. The role is responsible to follow up prompt invoice approval and invoice dispute resolution between internal and external stakeholders. The Accounts Payable Officer will have varied responsibilities including;
- Review and process valid invoices and credit notes accurately including matching PO and coding non-PO invoices, and explore discount opportunities
- Respond to enquiries in a timely manner with a high level of customer service
- Support the maintenance of vendor master records
- Reconcile vendor statements to obtain missing invoices and resolve account discrepancies
- Support the administration and internal stakeholders with the use of AP systems
- Foster a strong and positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Complete month-end closing tasks and provide support to Finance team and auditors as required
- Update AP process guides
- Ad hoc tasks as directed by AP Manager within reasonable scope of AP function
The traits that will help you succeed
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable position
- Strong attention to detail is essential
- Take ownership of tasks assigned, show initiative, and provide assistance to other members of the Finance team as necessary
