Seeking an Accounts Officer with a strong background in finance operations, including experience in reconciliation of high-volume transactions, statutory payments, and discrepancy resolution. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in accounting or finance, experience with accounting systems, and a commitment to maintaining industry-leading standards in customer service and sustainability.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Complete accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting reports.
- Prepare weekly aged creditor report with commentary on overdue invoices.
- Process international supplier invoices and payments.
- Responsible for processing statutory payments to Australian Taxation Office, Revenue NSW, Superannuation, and Employee deductions.
- Ensure all discrepancies related to Accounts Payable are investigated and reported immediately to the Accountant and Finance Manager.
- Ensure all Accounts Payable ledgers and related clearing accounts are reconciled in a timely manner for month-end and year-end reporting.
- Reconcile high-volume bank transactions and other general ledgers accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Assist in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as required.
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for all transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify potential issues and suggest corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensuring client enquiries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensuring that all processes are completed in a timely manner.
- Adapting to changes in processes and tasks.
- Ensuring deadlines for month-end and year-end are achieved.
- Providing a high level of customer service, both internally and externally.
- Balancing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
- Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all financial operations.
- Ensuring that all accounting processes for month-end and year-end are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensuring all finance discrepancies are resolved in an accurate and timely manner.
- Qualification in accounting or finance discipline or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Finance and Payable requirements.
- Experience in using accounting systems.
- Obtain and maintain a current volunteer NSW Working with Children Check.
- Degree qualifications.
- Working towards CPA (nice to have).
