About the role
As part of the finance team you will play an integral role in actively supporting the business in managing their vendor accounts. As a growing company, this is a great opportunity to develop your career in Accounting.
What you'll do
Manage vendor accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Charge expenses to accounts and cost centres by analysing invoice/expense reports
Pay vendors by monitoring and verifying invoices; scheduling and preparing checks
Prepare purchase order and invoice; verifying payment discrepancies and documentation insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
Track payment history and any outstanding payments
Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
Prepare analysis when required
Reconcile monthly bank statements and related transactions
Maintain historical records by filing documents
Disburse petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation
Record taxes/GST by calculating and verifying invoices
Protect the organisation's value by keeping information confidential
Manual processing of customer requests
Accomplish accounting and organisation mission by completing related results as needed
Uphold and contribute to Tyro’s strong risk culture by complying with our policies, completing mandatory training and identifying and managing risks within your day-to-day work
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Experience with excel, Workday and proprietary software
Experience and proven ability to manage accounting figures and financial records
Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable officer/clerk
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work well in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with department heads, vendors and employees in a friendly, professional and prompt manner
