The Role: This is a ongoing temp role offering 3 days work from home and 2 days based in the office at Surry Hills, which is only a 5 min walk. The Accounts Payable Specialist holds a pivotal position in elevating the operations of the finance team by ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all payment processes. Serving as a cornerstone within the department, this role is instrumental in maintaining the company promise to pay our partners and suppliers in strict accordance with company procedures and policies.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Efficient management of the Accounts Payable inbox.
- Processing and validating supplier invoices linked to purchase orders.
- Handling invoices from service providers with precision and promptness.
- Conducting comprehensive reconciliations of supplier statements.
- Executing various payment preparations with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of a substantial volume of invoices.
- Undertaking additional tasks as delegated by the management team to bolster departmental objectives.
- Familiarity with an Accounts Payable OCR system is advantageous.
- Proven experience within an Accounts Payable or similar role is essential.
- A comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an Accounts Payable Specialist.
- Unwavering accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in organizing and prioritizing tasks within tight deadlines.
- Exceptional phone etiquette, strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities. Active listening skills and effective responsiveness are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required, with additional experience in Google Drive highly regarded. Previous utilization of accounting software, EFT, and ERP systems is advantageous.

Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, such as:
- Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Diploma of Accounting
- Bachelor of Accounting
- Or any other pertinent qualifications in accounting or finance.
