As the Accreditation & Assessment Specialist (Assessment Consultant), you will be responsible for the management and review of a broad range of assessment activities to ensure minimum standards are met for entry into membership as associate or full members of CPA Australia.
The role is primarily responsible for the timely delivery of a broad scope of defined tasks across all stages of accreditation of higher education programmes, assessments and related accounting education matters associated with certification programmes of other professional bodies for admission to CPA Australia, and assessment to recognise prior learning to meet minimum admission standards.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Manage and assess accreditation submissions across all stages of the process, including providing technical expertise, pre-accreditation advice, recommendations on each accreditation submission to the Accreditation Management Committee (AMC), undertaking accreditation site visits, and liaising with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) where accreditations are conducted jointly with CPA Australia
- Provide input and technical expertise on development and review of assessments in CPA Program, Foundation Exams and Micro-credentialed courses.
- Provide input and technical expertise on assessments and related accounting education matters, and soft skills, including assessment and recognition of prior learning and experience
- Provide input into the accreditation and assessments guidelines development and review process to ensure compliance with current IFAC, IAESB and CPA Australia core knowledge requirements
- Oversee assessment of accreditation submissions by external accreditation consultants
About You:
Ideally, you will come to us with academic qualifications and/or industry experience in accounting or accounting-related fields, and with a CPA qualification, as well as:
- Experience and knowledge of the core knowledge requirements for higher education accounting programs
- Knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment practice
- Understanding of policies and procedures applicable to academics and students both local and international
- Understanding of process and procedures related to developing and running programmes across different levels (e.g., Bachelor, Master)
- Knowledge of program and subject design, staffing requirements and assessments including subject design and development, setting assessments and moderation requirements
- Knowledge of resourcing within the Higher Education Sector
- An understanding of the roles of membership of the various committees and Boards within higher education providers, for example, executive management committee, student progress, Academic Board, appeals and enrolments
- Ability to communicate effectively to a large range of internal and external stakeholders
