The Property Council of Australia is the champion of Australia’s largest industry that employs more than 1.4 million Australians and shapes the future of our cities. Position Purpose
A key leadership position in the Property Council. This role represents the Councils members and leads the co-ordination and delivery of the ACT Division’s policy, advocacy, government relations, and corporate communications activities, within the framework of the Property Council’s commercial and advocacy priorities and membership services.
You will:
- Be the public champion of the property industry in the region on issues that create and protect value for members and the industry.
- Be the chief advocate and campaigner for the property industry in ACT & CR.
- Implement strategies to grow and retain members in conjunction with Membership Central team.
- Support the ACT President in running an effective Division Council.
- Provide strong leadership and coaching to develop and retain a high-performance team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-7 years’ experience in similar leadership role.
- Personal integrity, good judgment and high levels of resilience.
- Strong leadership capability, evidenced in well-developed people management skills, problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills.
- Proven ability to creative a positive team culture, which is founded on trust, collaboration, shared accountability and recognition.
- Excellent understanding of political and policy development processes and deep experience in policy writing.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbal), including interpersonal, negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Strong understanding of governance including preparation of Briefing Notes, Board Papers, and committee management skills.
- Demonstrated skills in media and public speaking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with an open mind, proactively identifying issues and improvement opportunities.
- Ability to develop and maintain strategic networks.
- Superior organisational skills.
