Salary Range: $144,480-$155,529 per annum pro rata pending experience
Tenure: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract

St Teresa's College, Abergowrie is a Catholic secondary boys boarding college. Located in an ideal rural setting in the heart of the Herbert River Valley, the College is approximately 30 km northwest of Ingham and situated on Warrgamay land. The main industries are sugarcane, forestry and cattle. Abergowrie is close to Wallaman Falls which is the highest single-drop waterfall in Australia and the beautiful Broadwater National Park.
About the role
St Teresa's College, Abergowrie is seeking an experienced and dedicated Acting Deputy Principal - Pastoral and Residential to join the School Leadership Team. This role is a full time, fixed term contract for the duration of the 2024 teaching year.
The purpose of the Acting Deputy Principal - Pastoral and Residential position is to exercise leadership and assist with management of the school in both day school and residential settings in accordance with Catholic Education policy and in consultation with other personnel as appropriate, and with due reference to Catholic Education structures, processes and practices.
The Acting Deputy Principal - Pastoral and Residential as a member of the Leadership Team, assists the Principal in the leadership of the college. By negotiation the Acting Deputy Principal - Pastoral and Residential, may be expected to assume the delegated role of the Principal in her/his absence.

Mandatory Criteria
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
- Appropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers
- Full accreditation to teach at a Catholic school
- Is committed to the Catholic faith, an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community and is free from any impediment to full acceptance by the church and the school community
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
Desirable Criteria
- Masters or other post graduate qualification in Theology, Religious Education or Educational Leadership
- Recent leadership experience in a Catholic School with the ability to lead the drive for educational excellence
- Can show evidence of educational, pastoral, theological and managerial aspects of school leadership.
