Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a temporary full-time Deputy Principal at Bribie Island State High School, which is located in the North Coast Region. This role is offered until 27 June 2025, unless otherwise determined.

We have close working relationships with the two primary schools on the island, Bribie Island State School and Banksia Beach State School, including secondary transition programs.

About Bribie Island State High School

Bribie Island State High School is a co-educational secondary school located on an Island with a population of approximately 18,500, situated 100 kilometres north of Queensland's capital city. The school opened its doors to its first student intake on January 23, 1989 with 300 students. We now have a school population of over 1,100 students and 100 employees.

About the Role

Appointments in the public sector are merit-based and will be assessed by looking at what you have done previously—the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the Deputy Principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
