About the role: Acting Head of Learning - English

- Full Position Description
The Acting Head of Learning - English (HOLA) at South Coast Baptist College is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the development and delivery of English programs across Years 7 to 12. In addition to a teaching load, the HOLA will oversee the implementation of policies, programs, and practices to enhance student achievement and progression in English. They will lead a team of dedicated staff, foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, and ensure effective administration and resourcing of the English department.

- Demonstrated ability to fulfill the duties outlined in the position description.
- Excellence in teaching and a thorough understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across various stakeholders.
- Alignment with the ethos and culture of South Coast Baptist College.
- Capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
- Initiative and self-directedness in managing responsibilities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Essential Criteria:
- To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- To accept the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students and parents.
- Work to ensure personal best practice.
- Ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair.
- Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Always act in the best interest of the College and its ethos.
- Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- First Aid certificate is desirable.
- Working With Children Card.
