This business is ideally situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula, approximately an hours drive south east of Adelaide in South Australia. We have access to both the McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek Wine regions in addition to supplying equipment to the surrounding lifestyle, broadacre and dairy industries.

G & J East Strathalbyn aim to provide a full range of mechanised products to all our clients along with the expertise to install, service and backup this equipment with highly skilled mechanics and an extensive range of spare parts.We sell and service machinery, parts and technology from the world’s best brands.

We are seeking an Administrative & Accounts Officer to join our team and support our daily office procedures. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all financial transactions for the business are processed and recorded correctly with a strong focus on accounts payable and recievable. The Administrative & Accounts Officer will act as the point of contact for all clients and employees, providing administrative support and managing their queries.

As an Administration & Accounts Officer, you will be required to provide a range of administrative support duties including but not limited to:

  • Receptionist duties
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconciling Creditor accounts at month end
  • Bank statement reconciliation.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to other departments.
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, and emails.
  • Attend to incoming emails and accounts phone calls.
  • Updating database information
  • Arranging meetings and taking minutes as required
  • Maintaining a clean and organized office space

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our administrative activities run smoothly on a daily and long-term basis this position is full time Monday – Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm. 

If you have previous experience as an Office Administrator or similar administrative role, we’d like to meet you.

To be successful in this role you will have had previous experience within a busy administration environment. Personal requirements include;

  • At least 1 years’ experience in an account payable and receivable role.
  • Detail orientated with an ability to problem solve.
  • An ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • An ability to work as part of a team and autonomously; and
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.Excellent 
  • Excellent phone mannerism.
  • Willing to show initiative.
  • A thorough and methodical approach to your work.
  • Excellent time management skills

The successful applicant will meet the following selection criteria:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
  • Ability to act independently and as a member of a small team, including an ability to set priorities and take appropriate action.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Payable and Receivable role or similar
  • Ability to work under pressure, undertake new tasks quickly, to meet time frames and to plan and organise workload
  • Experience in advertising with either radio, television, social or print marketing an advantage
  • Well-developed computer skills in the area of computerised accounting systems, spread sheets and other associated computer software. An ability to develop new skills in the use of other computer systems.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement strategies
