Where you'll be working
The Integrated Booking Unit (IBU) is a crucial part of the surgical patient journey, responsible for processing all Recommendation For Admission (RFA) paperwork for elective surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital. The IBU works collaboratively with various departments throughout the facility to ensure the patient/ carer journey is as smooth as possible.
What you'll be doing
This position is responsible for maintaining patient waiting times in accordance with the NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Management policy. This involves liaising closely with surgical and/or medical teams to ensure timely access for patients. Each position is responsible for the coordination of a number of surgical specialties.
This role contributes to meeting the total health care needs and expectations of patients, clinicians, staff and the community. Waitlist coordinators achieve this by providing and maintaining a high level of standard in the IBU.
The successful applicant must possess excellent prioritisation skills with the ability to organise tasks and meet strict deadlines. Candidates will also have the ability to handle emotive issues, ensure high attention to detail, accurately enter data and work effectively within a team environment.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
