What you'll be doing
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives' . SESLHD Mental Health Workforce, provides a key service including workforce planning, recruitment, and retention, professional development, and performance management, and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives and strategies relating to the mental health workforce. The unit and its staff provide workforce leadership and support to the mental health program through the Service Directors and Operations Managers and facilitates workforce development across the service within SESLHD. SESLHD Mental Health Service Workforce Management is responsible for providing a centralised, customer focused, workforce management service for nursing and allied health in the District Service. Working collaboratively with Service managers to ensure human resources are managed appropriately in line with policy, the various Awards, organisational responsibilities. The Unit is responsible for a range of workforce related tasks for the MHS, including but not limited to: general and bulk recruitment, HCM/ROB expertise and support, overall stafflink management, expertise and support, position number maintenance, employee assignment management, separations and transfers of staff, HealthRoster management, expertise and support, and Content Manager support and record keeping, pay enquiries, allowance management, workforce reporting and maternity and long service leave management. The Administration Officer Level 5 will provide a range of high level administrative and clerical support services to enable the Workforce Manager/s to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable, and efficient manner. They will be responsible for providing a high quality, customer focused Human Resource service. The role will also provide direct administration support to the Senior Executive Officer in addition to providing support to the managers across the MHS.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks, while managing competing work priorities and workflow within allocated resources.
Experience in responding to a range of customer enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated initiative and the ability to bring a creative approach to problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork.
Demonstrated commitment to providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Outlook, Excel) and workforce related Information Technology Systems (including Stafflink, HealthRoster, HCM/ROB.
