Job description

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for more than 250,000 people across a geographic area of 150,000km2, delivering a comprehensive range of services across 21 facilities, from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Townsville University Hospital, located adjacent to one of Queensland’s leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.

The Opportunity
This position provides administration and business support to ensure efficient and timely provision of service thereby enabling financial and quality objectives of the service to be met.

Employment Status

  • Fixed Term Temporary part-time, commencing ASAP up to 29/01/2023, with a possibility of an extension - not exceeding 6 months (40 hr/pf).
Role requirements
  • Whilst not mandatory, it would be highly desirable if the applicant had previous administration experience.
  • It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
  • Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-directed manner.
  • Sound written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven ability in the utilisation of Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of hospital based systems such as HBCIS and FAMMIS.
  • Knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of financial concepts just as journals, receipting of invoices and stock ordering and management.

Benefits
  • Salary range of $34.66 to $38.74 p.h. (AO3).
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading.
  • Up to 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
