Applications are welcome for the position of Administration Officer (A03) to join our team within our school community at Tagai State College on a full-time temporary basis, for a period of 3 years, unless otherwise determined.
Tagai State College has secured approx. $2 million in funding through DYJESBT to run the School Tech program for Grade 11 and 12 students in 2024-2026 (3 years), with the vision of making this sustainable into the future.
School Tech enables students to combine their QCE studies, Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses and Structured Work Placement, and is focused on preparing students for employment and facilitating a smooth transition from school to work.
Within School Tech, there is a strong focus on sustainable partnerships, particularly with TAFE Queensland, Employers and Industry bodies.

Tagai State College comprises 16 Primary Campuses and 1 Secondary Campus across 15 Islands and 48 000 square kilometres in the beautiful Torres Strait. This position is based at the Secondary Campus on Thursday Island.
About the Role
The Administration Officer will:
- Provide a range of financial administrative activities and operations including data entry, maintenance of financial registers, computing and clerical support for the effective operations of the SchoolTech program, in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements;
- Coordinate logistics of structured work placement visits, ensuring adherence to procedural requirements;
- Manage student enrolments in all VET courses for students from 10-12;
- Collects and records student information e.g. USI Numbers;
- Ensure students have required PPE and uniforms to participate in VET Training and Work placement;
- Complete and maintain necessary paperwork for School Based Traineeships and Apprenticeships, and work placements;
- Coordinate the VET Block delivery;
- Source Work placements and maintain detailed student records of participation in each block of work placement;
- Supports the coordination of events or learning experiences aligned to SchoolTech.
