Primary objective
Communications and Electronic Systems Support (CESS) provides communications and electronic services to NT Police,
Fire and Emergency Services and other agencies in a timely and efficient manner. It is responsible for planning, managing,
and repairing communication services to meet the strategic and operational goals of the agency and maintain a 24/7 emergency
response capability. This position provides high level administrative, financial and customer service support to the business unit to
ensure that strategic and operational goals are achieved.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Be the first point of contact and provide a client-focused reception service that maintains security.
2. Deliver a continuously high standard of customer service to meet the needs of all internal and external clients and provide
administrative and financial support to the CESS.
3. Accept and process a wide range of requests in a timely, efficient and accurate manner utilising multiple NT Government
systems.
4. Maintain and report on the record management of CESS utilising TRM Content Manager.
5. Ensure that the supplier invoices are efficiently and accurately processed using the NT Government Accounts Payable system
and in line with CESS procedures.
6. Provide a secretariat service for meetings as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience in office administration and frontline customer service or similar, including experience in accounts payable
with high level attention to detail and accuracy.
2. Sound written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate across all levels with
various stakeholders, including professional boundaries in a command rank structure.
3. Ability to accurately record and convey information to both internal and external stakeholders and to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures.
4. Strong individual work ethic with the capacity to prioritise and manage competing workloads under pressure and meet critical
deadlines while working both independently and as part of a team.
5. Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes and deadlines in a busy work environment and to
exercise sound judgement.
6. Demonstrated ability to enter accurate and timely data using a range of computer programs and proven numeracy skills plus
experience in electronic financial transactions.
7. Ability to interpret legislation such as the Financial Management Act, Information Act and Procurement Act and associated
regulations.
Desirable
1. Ability to effectively use NT Government software such as TRM Content Manager, TRIPS, NTG Pay and Expense8.
2. Demonstrated working knowledge of agency and government financial frameworks.
