An exciting opportunity exists for the Advanced Peer Support Worker to assist consumers, carers and families, service providers and Non-Government Organisations to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework while utilising a lived experience of mental health issues to work towards achieving the best outcomes for consumers.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Actively participating in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical behaviour.
  • Facilitate consultation with consumers and carers to gather input into issues relating to mental health consumers including service planning
  • Actively participate in developing a consumer safety culture that focuses on continuous quality improvement in the delivery of health care.
  • Apply a lived experience perspective when working with individuals and groups to promote recovery.
Remuneration value up to $110 852 p.a., comprising salary between $88 187 - $97 157 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $44.47 - $49.00 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4) (Multiple Permanent full time and/or part time positions available).
