About the role:
Join a dynamic team of communications professionals dedicated to delivering effective stakeholder and Community Engagement strategies across a large range of water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure projects throughout the state.
Part-time candidates are encouraged to apply because job-share arrangements can be considered.
Candidates will enter a recruitment pool, where candidates who are unsuccessful for the above roles but deemed suitable may be utilised to fill similar future opportunities in Community Engagement in 2024.
What the role will involve:
Develop, implement and maintain effective communication and Community Engagement strategies to support the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects and programs.
Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders that may be impacted by our infrastructure projects to deliver Community Engagement initiatives.
Produce content for print and digital channels to aid project outcomes.
Manage customer and stakeholder issues and complaints.
Coordinate media announcements and Ministerial correspondence.
Key skills and experience:
Degree level qualification in communications, public relations or related discipline is preferred or substantial equivalent experience.
Experience in Community Engagement, stakeholder and issues management, ideally for a large multi-disciplined organisation.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to summarise complex issues for common use.
Good interpersonal and organisational skills; able to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
A strong alignment and commitment to our values and behaviours that contribute to a positive work environment and culture.
Experience in Ministerial engagement and/or working with government processes is desirable.
Prior IAP2 training desired but not essential.
Ability to travel to regional areas as required, including overnight trips.
