Job description

The role:

The Advisor - Policy and People Development supports the development, maintenance and promotion of human resource related policies and related resources that support the Department’s workforce strategies and compliance obligations. This includes assisting and coordinating in the implementation and maintenance of human resources workforce initiatives. The role also contributes to annual activities undertaken by People and Culture to ensure compliance with the legislative framework as it relates to employment.

The Team

At the Department of Health, we are proud of our people and the service we provide for our community.  Working as an Advisor – Policy and People Development within People and Culture you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and promoting a diverse range of human resource related policies, and assist with strategic projects that are linked to Department and whole of Government programs and initiatives.

Location of this position is available statewide.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 12 months.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $95,393 to $100,067 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:

  1. Relevant qualification from a recognised institution or equivalent experience

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
