About the role
At Engineers Australia, we are looking for and Advisor to to support our Volunteer Committees. The primary purpose of this position is to support Engineers Australia’s office bearer (volunteer) committees in delivering EA’s strategy through the provision of administrative support, professional advice and guidance. The position also assists with projects being undertaken by volunteer task-based teams. To support our Volunteers, this role will be required to be on site, 5 days per week with some flexibility throughout the probation period, after completion of the probation, a hybrid working model can be discussed with the hiring manager.
In this role you will:
- Provide high-level administration services to support the efficient operation of a number of Learned Society groups.
- Support Volunteer Committees in working collaboratively, including by facilitating conversations between Volunteer Committees and between Volunteer Committees and EA employees, and external parties.
- Provide sound advice and guidance to allocated groups in line with EA’s policies, procedures and regulations.
- Preparation and coordination of a range of documents such as agendas, meeting notes, business cases, plans (and track progress), emails, etc.
- Monitor and support the delivery of allocated groups’ operational plans to ensure planned outcomes are achieved
- Provide reports as required and assist task-based teams in the delivery of agreed outcomes in the specified timeframe.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Previous work experience in a professional environment is essential.
- You have proven experience in building and sustaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with previous experience working with volunteers being highly regarded.
- Demonstrated high-level planning, organisation, and coordination skills together with the ability to recommend and decide on appropriate action in an environment subject to work pressure, competing priorities, complexities and change.
- Strong co-ordination and problem-solving skills and able to work well in a small team to support a collaborative working environment.
- High level communication skills with a strong customer service focus meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers and uses feedback to improve services.
- Strong project management skills and experience (or previous project management experience will be highly regarded).
- Experienced and comfortable working with stakeholders, internal and external, at all levels of business.
- You have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
