About the Position
The Age Well Officer will implement strategic objectives outlined in the Monash Health and Wellbeing Plan, including the Positive Ageing Lifestyle programs and the Monash Seniors Festival. Fostering an engaging environment for adults as they age, the position also provides vital support to older adult clubs, addressing their unique needs and aspirations. Provide active involvement in data collection and consultation processes, to report and evaluate actions outlined in the Health and Wellbeing Plan. Additionally, collaboration on initiatives focusing on critical priorities such as Elder Abuse, Ageism, and Dementia Friendly Communities. Furthermore, you will play a key role in fostering community development, actively enhancing social and economic participation for community members as they age.
Skills and Experience
In-depth understanding of issues pertaining to older adults, reflecting a well-developed knowledge base
Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of health promotion or community development initiatives
Competent in organising activities and events, leveraging organisational and coordination skills to create engaging and meaningful activities
Demonstrated administrative expertise, with proven ability to be proactive and well organised
Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, community development, social science, or related field
Minimum three years of experience in a similar role involving activity planning and development
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, community development, social science, with relevant experience in community services
Experience working in a similar role involving activity planning, development, implementation, and evaluation is desirable.
