Job Description

·        Positions available for Personal Care Assistant Traineeships witha well-known Aged Care Organisation. The traineeship is fully funded andincludes paid employment.

·        Person will be paired with another worker for a few months to betrained.

·        The duties for the Home Care role can be different to Residentialcare. Such as, cleaning of client’s homes, helping with daily tasks(appointments, shopping, etc.), client hygiene (showering etc.) and spendingtime with the client. 

Job Duties for Personal Care Assistants

• Assist with toileting
• Skin care to maintain the health of the skin
• Respiratory assistance
• Bathing, grooming and hair washing necessary for personal hygiene
• Turning and position of the client(s)
• Application and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics
• Dressing or undressing of the client(s)
• General Cleaning and assisting with shopping and appointments

Specific Requirements

·        Must be JVES eligible and willing to register with Jesuit SocialServices

·        Long term unemployed (6 months or more) or underemployed (average12 hours or less a week of paid work)

·        Must have minimum 3x COVID vaccinations, 2023 flu shot and provideevidence

·        Must have license and Car (for Home Care)

·        Good English language proficiency

·        Basic Maths

·        Computer skills

·        Contactable by mobile and email

·        Access to Computer/Laptop and access to reliable internet

·        Musthave the flu vaccine and provide medical certificate evidence

·        NationalPolice Check – (Unsupervised category)

·        Eligibilityto enrol in Certificate III qualification, specifically

·        18+years

·        Notalready holding Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015)

·        Notalready holding Certificate III in Aged Care

GeneralRequirements
