Position Detail: Agronomist, Permanent Role
Pay: 100k - 150k per annum, experience dependent
Location: Coorow WA
Position Purpose:
The objective of this position is to provide operational and planning support to the Operations Manager in the day-to-day operation of the farm.
Roles & Responsibilites:
- Safe and efficient completion of cropping operations including deep ripping, spreading, spraying, seeding, harvesting, burning, chaining, stubble crunching, truck driving.
- Spray planning, weather monitoring, and correct application of chemicals
- Equipment and machinery maintenance, repairs and cleaning
- Paddock clean-up activities i.e. rock picking, road maintenance, fence removal, firebreak management
− Maintain, repair and clean farm infrastructure (e.g. fences, buildings, water equipment etc) as required
− Planning annual crop rotations and inputs including chemicals, fertiliser, seed etc in conjunction with the Operations Manager
− Actively participate in team meetings, and attend relevant industry training and information sessions
− Reporting of hazards, incidents and near misses in the workplace
− Reporting of operational activities
− Maintaining farm records including equipment maintenance logs, paddock inputs, rainfall
− Supervision and training of seasonal staff as required
− Involvement in and leading continuous improvement projects (infrastructure, technology, operational)
− Additional tasks as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
− First Aid
− Western Australian Manual Driver’s License
Qualifications:
− HR or MC license
− High Risk License – WAH, Fork lift, confined space
− Agricultural qualification (i.e. mechanical, agronomic, business)
− Auschem Accreditation
Experience:
− Considerable experience with broad acre farming techniques and equipment including spraying activities
− Mechanical (maintenance and repairs)
− Use of Microsoft Word and other basic computer-based software tools (e.g email)
− Welding
− Supervising seasonal staff
