Role Details
The Occupational Therapist is a role within DHSDisability Services and is accountable to the Senior OccupationalTherapist for:
Functional and Sensory Assessments.
Providing a high-level consultancy and education service onequipment on equipment selection, usage and prescription to assistthe complex needs of clients from all ages and backgrounds.
Working collaboratively with clients, families and carers toimprove support provided to people exhibiting behaviours of concernin a way that is respectful of peoples' human rights, puts theclient at the centre of planning, and aims to improve quality oflife for clients and disability.
Delivering services to participants of the Disability Services forOlder Australians (DSOA) and National Disability Insurance Scheme(NDIS), in accordance with the goals outlined in their plans,providing a service that aligns with the NDIS practice standardsand quality indicators provided by the NDIS Quality and SafeguardsCommission.
Contributing to the development of innovativepractices.

Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence(equivalent to minimum class C).
Essential Qualifications:
Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitlesregistration as an Occupational Therapist.
Must have full registration with the Occupational Therapy Board andmaintain current registration.
About the Business
Disability Services provides valuable support to the SouthAustralian community through supported independent living,Transition to Home, quality and clinical services, and the DHSEquipment Program. As one of the largest providers, we superviseand help with everyday tasks to support people living withdisability to live as independently as possible. Our Transition toHome initiative facilitates the timely discharge of people with adisability from hospital into the community.
We also fund equipment and home modifications for SouthAustralians who are otherwise unfunded for these services throughCommonwealth options. Equipment and home modifications, as well asthe delivery, repair, maintenance and replacement of items, isfunded by the DHS Equipment Program.

Salary Range: $67,466-$82,359 (AHP1)$86,950-$100,729 (AHP2)
