About the role
The Mental Health Occupational Therapist Older Persons works as part of a multidisciplinary team and is accountable for the provision of occupational therapy services including assessments, treatment planning, interventions and programs to enhance mental health and functional outcomes for older persons mental health consumers and their families and carers. The mental health Occupational Therapist additionally undertakes clinical care coordination and is responsible for the delivery of a range of other clinical activities including care planning, clinical reviews, psychosocial assessment and interventions specialised mental health assessments, consistent with evidence based mental health frameworks. These lead to improved clinical outcomes for patients of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), Mental Health Clinical Program (MHCP). The Level 2 Occupational Therapist demonstrates a proficient level of professional knowledge and skill and participates in educational, quality improvement and planning activities.
Qualifications
Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
