As an integral leader in the delivery of significant Airports infrastructure works, this role is responsible for the overall program planning and governance of key Airport terminal projects across our major Ports.  

As the Airports Program Manager, you will be the program management expert for our local project teams and represent the Airports’ business in infrastructure programs including Western Sydney, our Perth Western Hub and major port redevelopments.  These broad cross-functional programs require your program planning expertise to operationalise the infrastructure strategy. The program of work includes executing the cutting edge of airport design and development, incorporating new technologies, risk managing the impact of terminal upgrades to our operation and playing a pivotal role in ensuring the Qantas Group is a world leader.  

Utilising your intricate knowledge of Airport operations and Program management, you will influence key stakeholders across the Program and act as the voice of both the business and the customer to ensure appropriate consideration and planning of the end-to-end requirements. You will keep the Airport and its operation front and centre during the implementation of the terminal works, minimising impact to customers and employees.  

Your presence onsite will be deeply valued and impactful. Your input will be critical in ensuring the program will meet commercial imperatives on time. You will do this by acting as a key liaison between project and Airports business unit teams, providing a seamless experience for Airports Infrastructure programs. 

You’ll have –   

  • Demonstrated highly effective stakeholder management with a variety of internal and external teams at all levels, including senior leadership.  
  • Strong influencing skills, resilience, and a proven ability to navigate complexity in an ever-changing operational environment  
  • Extensive expertise in program management balancing competing priorities, prioritising workload, and using effective problem-solving skills within an operational environment, preferably within Aviation  
  • Proven ability to manage significant, complex projects or initiatives across multiple areas or business units with significant budget  
  • Strong background in delivery and implementation methodologies within Airports and aviation infrastructure, risk management and principles of change  
  • An understanding of Airport and/or Airline operations and experience in managing change within these environments 
  • Ability and confidence to quickly identify key opportunities and issues in any business, and develop strategies or plans to capitalise on these opportunities or resolve issues   
  • An appreciation of the industrial landscape and appreciation of how change impacts customer experience
