With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD, Melbourne's North is fast becoming the place to be!The Role:An opportunity exists for a Grade 2 or 3 Allied Health Assistant to join the team at Northern Health.The Allied Health Assistant - Grade 2 / 3 will ensure high quality clinical and administrative support to Allied Health teams (predominantly Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology) within Community Therapy Services. This position is based at Bundoora Centre. The caselod includes providing individual therapy and group based therapy in the centre and home based setting. The AHA role will also assist with completion of administrative tasks including ordering equipment/stock and maintenance of equipment.This role is fixed term, part time role (July to September 2024) at 72 hours per fortnight (0.95EFT). Job share will also be considered.To be successful in this role you will have:
- Clinical experience working in a community setting with older population
- Experience providing interventions in a home and centre setting (individual and group therapy)
- Experience working autonomously under the direction of a Physiotherapist / Exercise Physiologist
- Demonstrates a client centred focus in the provision of care
- Demonstrated teamwork and appreciation of multidisciplinary practice
- Understanding of the roles and contributions of different disciplines to patient care and discharge planning
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within Grade 2 / 3 Allied Heath Assistant scope of practice and seek advice/support when required
- Demonstrated negotiation and effective interpersonal skills
