Keep Moving Health Group is a mobile Allied Health practice based in Frenchs Forest dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative and convenient Allied Health services to elderly clients in the comfort of their own homes. Our mission is to enable our clients to stay healthy, active and independent in their home.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our dynamic team on a part-time/casual basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting our elderly clients with their physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs, independence, and enhancing their quality of life.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of our clients, be a fast learner, able to work independently as well as part of a team, possess excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly, and have the ability to motivate clients to achieve their best.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and report to Allied Health professionals (predominately physiotherapists and occupational therapists) in delivering high-quality care to elderly clients in their homes. Collaborate effectively with other team members and third parties to ensure care of client.
- Establish and maintain rapport with clients, their families and service providers to enable you to encourage and motivate clients to engage in therapy sessions and exercises.
- Implementing exercise programs (including prescribed exercises to improve a clients strength and balance, assisting clients to go for a walk outdoors, incorporating activities such as ball skills, quoits, boxing, carpet boules), as well as Occupational Therapy cognitive activities such as board games, puzzles and online programs and other therapeutic interventions as directed by the Allied Health team.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any observations made during sessions through our online practice management software.
- Drive to clients homes in our service area to see clients.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards at all times.
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license, own reliable car, and a smartphone
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with elderly clients.
- Ability to quickly establish rapport and motivate clients.
- Regular work days essential, which must include a Friday as well as 1-2 other days during the week.
- Proficiency in using technology, including practice management software for documentation purposes.
- Cert III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or studying a relevant Allied Health degree highly regarded.
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take on new challenges and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proof of working rights in Australia - non residents will not be considered.
