Are you our next Allied Health/ Speech Therapy Assistant?
We are looking for a Part Time Therapy Assistant for our busy Speech Pathology Practice.
About us
We are a neurodivergent owned Speech Pathology practice and are strong advocates for neurodivergent affirming support through a strengths based and trauma informed lens.
We support participants with a variety of complex communication needs and mealtime supports - including neurodevelopmental differences from age 3 and up. We provide therapy within our town based clinic and the community.
About the role
As an employee of Good Earth Therapy you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience & employment within your chosen field of study working as a Therapy Assistant. You will work under the guidance of a qualified Speech Pathologist, enabling you to gain practical skills for your future career whilst earning income with flexible hours.
Your role will be to implement a therapeutic plan, supporting the participant in achieving their immediate and future goals. At GET, no day is the same - your role will fluctuate between 1:1 time with a participant, developing resources for participants and accompanying therapists on community visits.
We currently have availability for an AHA for 10-15 hours per week (flexible).
Criteria to apply:
- A Certificate in Allied Health Assistance (AHA) or enrolment in relevant degree e.g Speech Pathology (those with relevant experience in roles involving child development will be considered)
- A passion for using a Neurodiversity Affirming Approach (OR a willingness to learn about this by being supported by a neurodivergent team)
- Ability to apply a trauma informed and culturally appropriate framework
- Current Ochre Card
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- COVID-19 vaccination/ Flu Shot (or a willingess to obtain to protect our vulnerable client population)
- Current driving license is beneficial to the role
