About the role
The Allied Health Assistant will assist with providing professional high-quality patient care within the service aimed at improving patient health outcomes.
The incumbent of this casual role shall demonstrate that their practice encourages individual residents to remain independent and to participate in a wide variety of meaningful activities that support their needs, wishes and interests and promote their quality of life.
Key to this position is the formation of good working relationships with the Allied Health, Living Well and clinical teams within St Basils Homes SA.
The Allied Health assistant is responsible to the physiotherapists, the LivingWell team leader and the Living Well House Manager for assistance with leisure and well-being activities within St Basils.
This role will require you to be located at our Christies Downs facility and cover leave when required at our Croydon Park facitiy.
Skills and experience
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (3rd or 4th Year Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy student welcome to apply)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with older people
- Awareness of dementia
- Willingness to embrace and demonstrate the values of the organisation
- Flexible and proactive approach to work with a desire to learn and be part of a team
