About us
Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.
The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.
What you'll be doing
The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works closely with the multidisciplinary Allied Health team to provide a flexible and responsive service that works to meet each patient's identified therapeutic and discharge goals.
The position is responsible for the implementation of individual interventions and/or therapy programs, as delegated by the treating therapists. The AHA will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide services that include provision of delegated therapies, provision of appropriate equipment and aids as prescribed by Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), assistance with paperwork and referrals to facilitate discharge, and liaison with external providers to obtain information to progress care or facilitate discharge. The AHA will also be responsible for administrative and clinical support functions, which assist with patient management and contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications and/or enrolment in course in relevant discipline
- Some experience in working within the mental health sector and accommodation
- Australian working rights and full Covid-19 vaccination
- Current Victorian Driver's License
- Be willing to undergo a Background Check
