The role is for 16 to 38 hours Monday to Friday in a family-friendly role; option to work in school hours if you prefer.
About the role
This position will see you provide quality Allied Health support for adults under the guidance of an Allied Health Professional (Occupational Therapist at present, other Allied Health in future) in people’s homes to encourage and promote goal achievement, improve functional capacity and achieve the best possible outcomes that support all areas of daily living. The Allied Health Assistant provides clinic-based, home-based and virtual service delivery, and will assist us to coordinate our future AHA team as it grows.

Your new role:
- Provide Occupational Therapy and Allied Health support and interventions within identified scope of practice as determined by Allied Health Clinicians.
- Develop your skills and knowledge as an Allied Health Assistant.
- Communicate with a range of people, including clients, families/ carers, and staff from other disciplines.
- Assist in the provision of leadership and coordination of other Allied Health Assistants
- Assistant student placements
- Assist with the management and prioritisation of AHA caseloads
- You will play a critical part of the service delivery between the consumer and the therapist
About you:
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or equivalent work experience or qualifications.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as administrative skills, with the ability to work confidently and courteously.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
Additionally, you will require:
NDIS workers check screening
Current police clearance (within the last 12 months)
Evidence of right to work in Australia
Drivers Licence and Reliable Vehicle
A current first aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one
Current vaccinations – 2 x Covid and annual flu vaccination
