Allied Health Services Manager

The Allied Health Services Manager is responsible for providing high level leadership and operational management for the provision of Allied Health Services at within a correctional centre. This position is a member of the senior management team and is required to lead and manage a multidisciplinary Allied Health team to deliver effective and efficient mental health, disability and rehabilitation services.

In this role you will:

• Apply high level clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in the implementation of mental health and disability services, including assessments, formulation, individual and groups treatments and complex case management to prioritise team workload and coordinate, monitor and review clinical quality.
• Ensure mental Health Services are delivered in accordance with best practice and agency frameworks and procedures.
• Ensure team members apply best practice principles in the delivery of mental Health Services and the rapid translation of new knowledge into practice.
• Lead, guide and manage a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of high-quality mental Health Services.
• Develop partnerships with and facilitate collaborative care process with key internal and other government agencies and external services to enhance effective mental health service delivery.
• Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and relevant clinical activities, such as, case conferences, to contribute to evidence-based assessment, treatment and planning.
• Provide advice, information and recommendations to centre management on operational and strategic matters relating to the delivery of mental Health Services.
• Provide concise, informative and timely briefings to the Superintendent, other QCS business units and facilitate the exchange of information between agencies to maximise the protection of the community in a timely manner.
• Provide advanced level clinical advice, oversight and practice supervision to a team of Allied Health staff, to ensure professional clinical standards within the unit.
• Maintain a client caseload and clinical supervision caseload commensurate with responsibilities and/or provide expert advice on the appropriate management of individuals.
• Motivate, encourage and coach staff in the performance of their duties, manage staff performance through performance management and development processes and ensure training and professional development opportunities are provided.
• Identify future issues and new directions for SQCC2 mental health service delivery and contribute to formal service and strategic planning processes.
• Incorporate the principles of person-centred care, recovery-focussed care and trauma-informed care into service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with the Department's practices and procedures and where required facilitate implementation of new initiatives.
